Dear Parents and Students,
I am pleased to welcome you to my mathematics class. I hope everyone will enjoy the middle school experience. To keep up to date with our math class, I plan to publish a bimonthly newsletter on this website. You will find information to help with the concepts we are studying as well as general classroom information.
Thank you in advance for a great year. I look forward to seeing you soon at Meet Your Teacher Night, Wednesday Sept. 17, at 7:00pm.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Antunes
![]() About Me- I am Mrs. Antunes, your child’s fifth grade math teacher. I have had the pleasure of teaching in the Brigantine Middle School since 1994. The fifth grade math program has been my assignment since then. I greatly enjoy the curriculum and I try to make math fun and exciting for everyone. (Former students may remember me as Miss Rake.)
When at home, my hobbies include flower gardening, going to the beach and cheering for the Penn State football team.
How to contact me-Sending a note with the student seems to be the best line of communication. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about our class. |
Important Information- Class homework information is on the school website, which you should access via your personal email links- www.Brigantine.SchoolFusion.us
Homework Schedule- · Monday - signed quiz, practice problems
· Tuesday - practice problems · Wednesday -practice problems · Thursday - study for quiz · Friday – none Homework tips- assignments are to be written in the school planner. I try to “stamp” the planner on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to confirm the assignment.
Homework is practice and review of work we did in class. Parents should feel free to check it. Calculators are NOT needed for homework.
Quiz schedule- Math quizzes are on Fridays
Textbook policy- when the math textbook is assigned it should stay at home. Students should NOT carry the book to and from school. I will collect them in June.
Grading-we average 7 to 8 quiz grades per marking period. Each homework assignment counts. Great homework averages will improve the math grade. Missed assignments will affect the overall average. |
