Concept Map
This concept map lesson plan is designed for a fifth grade regular education mathematics classroom. The individual student is to complete a long term project over the school year designing and reevaluating a math concept map.
General Objective-
The student will construct a concept map.
Cognitive domain objectives-
The student will identify 8 math main concepts with 90 percent accuracy.
The student will identify 8 math sub topics 90 percent accuracy.
The student will use appropriate descriptor words in links with 90 percent accuracy.
The student will connect concepts and sub topics with appropriate links with 90 percent accuracy.
The student will make a map using Inspiration software with 90 percent accuracy.
Concept Map Lesson Plan
At the beginning of the school year, the student will set up journal pages to organize math topics that are being studied throughout the year. In September the student will construct an Inspiration concept map with math topics used in class. Each month afterwards the student will add information to the map and reevaluate links and descriptor words. At the end of the year, the student should have a concept map that shows the overall math concepts as well as their relationships to one another.
